50 to 80% of people (Liberians and foreign nationals ) interacting with most public entities—public schools, passport department, birth certificate office, public healthcare, the police, courts, ports of entry, power/water departments for utilities, official documents and or paying import duties etc; Often have to pay a bribe! On the other hand corrupt officials in Government are stealing millions thereby denying the country and general population of basic social services.
Until all of us get involve with the fight against corruption; corruption will continue to keep Liberia in Extreme Poverty, where over 85% of the population lives on less than fifty cents ($0.50US) a day.
